Vicki Simmons
Vicki Simmons is a bassist, banjo player, and singer from Berea, Kentucky, who learned clawhammer banjo from Lily May Ledford and was a founding member of the New Coon Creek Girls at Renfro Valley in August 1979. She led the band through its many lineups, later played with Dale Ann Bradley & Coon Creek, and co-wrote many of their songs. After a brain aneurysm and stroke in 2008, she recovered enough to rejoin reunions of the band.
