Martha Adcock

Martha Adcock (born Martha Hearon, 1949) is an American bluegrass guitarist, singer, and songwriter who pioneered the progressive bluegrass and "newgrass" movements. Raised in South Carolina with classical training, she taught herself stringed instruments from a young age before moving to Nashville in 1973. There, she joined the seminal contemporary ensemble II Generation and partnered with innovative banjoist Eddie Adcock, whom she married in 1976.
