Tommy Thompson
Tommy Thompson was a cowboy singer and guitarist who performed on WSM's Grand Ole Opry in the early 1940s. He toured the South in 1942 with the Opry's Jam-Up and Honey tent show unit, which also featured Uncle Dave Macon and his son Dorris, Bill Monroe's band and fiddler Howard "Big Howdy" Forrester. He and Forrester performed together in the tent shows' "after show" acts. He sang "When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again" on the Opry broadcast of July 11, 1942, with Forrester on fiddle, after George D. Hay introduced him as a cowboy from west of the Mississippi.
