Shauna “Babe” Larkin
Shaunna "Babe" Larkin (born 1982) is a fiddler and singer from Church Hill, Tennessee, who played in her family's bluegrass band and later formed the country duo the Larkins with her sister Tina. She is the middle of the three daughters of Lowell and Barbara Larkin, who led the Larkin Family band. She and Tina began singing together as small children, learning songs their father had sung on stage with his brothers. She was winning fiddle contests by age eight. She played fiddle in the family band by age 13 and sang lead and harmony. The band played bluegrass festivals across the country from 1988 and appeared regularly at Dollywood. The sisters made their first Grand Ole Opry appearance as the Larkins in 2001 and released their self-titled debut album, with Dolly Parton as a guest, in 2003.
