Patty Loveless

Patty Loveless (born Patricia Lee Ramey, January 4, 1957) is an American neotraditional country, honky-tonk, and bluegrass singer-songwriter from Pikeville, Kentucky. A distant cousin of country legends Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle, she began performing as a teenager with the Wilburn Brothers before securing a contract with MCA Records in 1985, later altering the spelling of her professional surname from her first marriage to Terry Lovelace. Over a multi-decade career that transitioned from platinum-selling commercial country to acoustic roots music, she charted 44 Billboard Hot Country singles, joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1988, won the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year award (1996), two Grammy Awards, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2023.
