Ozark Folk Center

Venues

The Ozark Folk Center is a living history state park in Mountain View, Arkansas. It grew out of the Arkansas Folk Festival and was launched in April 1963 by the Ozark Foothills Handicraft Guild and the Rackensack Folklore Society. Songwriter Jimmy Driftwood, best known for "The Battle of New Orleans," was a prominent advocate for the park and with help from educator Dr. Bessie Moore and Congressman Wilbur Mills, the state broke ground in 1971 and opened the center on May 5, 1973.
