Nina Gerber

Nina Gerber is an American acoustic and electric guitarist, producer, and arranger who has been a central fixture of the West Coast folk and Americana music scenes since the late 1970s. Born and raised in Sebastopol, California, she launched her professional career after a high school encounter with folk singer-songwriter Kate Wolf inspired her to become Wolf's dedicated right-hand accompanist, a role she maintained from 1979 until Wolf's passing in 1986. Gerber has spent decades as an in-demand sidewoman and studio collaborator, performing and recording alongside prominent artists such as Laurie Lewis, Karla Bonoff, Nanci Griffith, Dave Alvin, and Greg Brown. Her contribution to the folk community was recognized with the Kate Wolf Memorial Award from the World Folk Music Association in 1999.
