Jacob Jolliff

Jacob Jolliff (born 1989, performing as a child under the name Jake Henry) is an American mandolinist, singer, and composer. Raised in Newberg, Oregon, he began playing the mandolin at age seven under his father's guidance before attending the Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship and winning the prestigious National Mandolin Championship at the Walnut Valley Festival in 2012. He spent his early twenties anchoring the contemporary Boston-based string band Joy Kills Sorrow, and following that group's dissolution, toured internationally from 2014 to 2019 as a full-time member of Yonder Mountain String Band. Based in New York, he currently fronts The Jacob Jolliff Band.
