Bands / Ensembles
The Grant Street String Band, formed in 1979, was a bluegrass band from Berkeley, California, led by fiddler and singer Laurie Lewis. The lineup was Lewis on fiddle, Tom Bekeny on mandolin, Greg Townsend on guitar, Steve Krouse on banjo and Beth Weil on bass. That lineup recorded the band's self-titled album, released in 1983. The group later became Laurie Lewis and Grant Street, with Tom Rozum joining in 1986.
