Darren Beachley
Darren Beachley is a bluegrass singer, guitarist, and dobro player from Maryland. He grew up around the railroad towns of Brunswick and Point of Rocks, Maryland, and began playing with his parents as a child. He took up mandolin at four, bass at nine and dobro at 14. He played dobro in Bill Harrell & the Virginians, worked with other Washington-area bands, including Paul Adkins & Borderline, and led his own band, Maryland Line. He joined Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver at the start of 2006, first as bass player and singer and later as a guitarist. With Quicksilver he performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the Hollywood Bowl. After leaving Lawson, he formed Darren Beachley & Legends of the Potomac with mandolinist Norman Wright, banjo player Mark Delaney, dobro player Mike Auldridge, and bassist Tom Gray. He later performed with Linda Lay's band, the Dede Wyland Band, and The Country Gentlemen Show.
