Dana Schankman
Dana Schankman (now Dana Burke) is a banjo player and singer from Los Angeles who, with her twin sister Lauren, led the Schankman Twins. Former child actors, the twins took up bluegrass as young teens with encouragement from Ralph Stanley. They recorded their debut album, Duality, at 16, released in 1996 on their family's City West label, and its single "Waterbound" became a bluegrass radio hit in 1999–2000. While studying ethnomusicology at UCLA they toured widely, then in 2004 formed the country-pop group Malibu Storm with their brother Michael Alden.
