Boot Hill

Bands / Ensembles

Boot Hill was a bluegrass band formed in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1976 by Sam Sanger (guitar) and Louisa Branscomb (banjo), with Steve Block (bass) and Gary Brown (mandolin). Active for eight years, the group became one of the busiest on the southeastern circuit, playing hundreds of shows annually, releasing multiple albums of largely original material, and earning a reputation for their energetic performances and songwriting.
